Applications are now being sought from eligible candidates for the full-time role of a Member of the Inspectorate, who will be part of the Executive team led by the Chief Inspector. As a policing expert, a Member of the Inspectorate is responsible for leading, directing and carrying out inspections as set out in the Inspectorate’s work plan.

Candidates must have served in the police service of another state or have obtained relevant experience which – in the opinion of the Government – is suitable for the role.

A person is not eligible to be appointed as a Member of the Inspectorate if he or she is or has been a member of the Garda Síochána.

The person appointed will play a key role in setting the strategic direction of the Inspectorate, the delivery of its strategic objectives, and ensuring it meets its corporate governance and statutory responsibilities.

The role requires strong leadership, analytical, interpersonal and strategic organisational awareness skills.

If you feel you would benefit from a confidential discussion, contact Eamonn Purcell on [email protected].

The closing date for receipt of completed applications is 3pm on Thursday 27th May, 2021.
