This inspection report was subject to its latest assessment in September 2024. The report contains a total of 80 recommendations of which:

  • 51 are considered implemented;
  • Nine are rejected;
  • Five are not yet implemented and action is ongoing. Progress will continue to be monitored;
  • Five are part of the action plan for implementation of the report of the Commission of the Future of Policing in Ireland. These recommendations will be subject to further monitoring;
  • Seven have not been addressed and due to the extended passage of time they will not be subject to further monitoring.
  • Two are the subject of a recommendation in a subsequent Inspectorate report and progress will be monitored in that report; and
  • One is the subject of a legislative requirement in the Policing, Security and Community Safety Bill. This recommendation will be subject to further monitoring.

In total, 11 of the recommendations will be subject to further monitoring by the Inspectorate.
