This report, requested by the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform, reviewed how the allocation and deployment of Garda resources for front-line operational duties could be improved. It also looked at the development and implementation of the Garda Charter setting out targeted response times and levels of service the public could expect.
The report includes an examination of the availability and management of resources, an analysis of the demand for policing services (emergency and non-emergency) and the operation of Garda rosters. The report contains twenty-seven recommendations to improve the allocation of resources.
