This report, requested by the Minister for Justice and Equality, is a follow-on review of the Inspectorate’s 2012 report entitled Responding to Child Sexual Abuse. It is the first time that the Inspectorate has specifically re-examined an area previously inspected.
This follow-on review examines the progress made on the implementation of each of the recommendations contained in the original report. It further explores multi-agency and joint-agency working on child protection matters and examines the growing phenomena of online child sexual abuse and child sexual exploitation as well as the potential dangers that the internet poses to children.
